Hello Rafiki - Friends from Long ago, and still are friends today.

TOMORROW March 11 2025

One of our OUTSTANDING members will be remembered as it is the anniversary of his Birth 95 years ago.

Joseph Pereira DeLord, has been given a great send off into the "Next World" the one we have all anticipated since we first understood it was re truly there.

How amazing amd wonderful it is to me to now Look back on this week - this time 5 years ago....when Covid 19..was trying to get our attention. It was already March and the WHO was not quite ready to declare a PAN demic..Massachusetts was in Lockdown the day after!

My fearless MD husband Bosco, fully aware of the news from Seattle and Chia and UK chose to stick to his plan to go to the Uk to celebrate the 90 th Birthday of Joe De Lord, his Childhood Family friend/ brother in law and "hero" In 1950 Zanzibar St J Convent School Mother/SIster Nuns of the German Precious Blood, backed up by the Irish Holy Ghost Fathers made sure 'heroes' and leaders were not just those in a Book on a silver screen in CinemaScope and Technicolor as in the UK and USA USA! but someone you saw daily in your School Yard - yes the enclosed garden Paradise of the Convent schoolBoys and Girls.. I was 7 years old when I joined in 1949
My Dad was granted residence above the Post Office ! so I was 8 when Joseph John Bosco was in standard 11 1950- 9 when he left - took off. Neither Brother in law made it into my consciousness then..

Later aged 12 13 ? I do recall accompanying my Dad to Kizibani where he was meeting Joe De Lord. Dad was always meeting someone somehwere OUT THERE. On March 29 1991 after I lived in the USA for a while my Dad went further "out there " to his eternal Rest on Good Friday at 3 pm. I fet a strange assurance that sometime then while I was half way across on TWA St Louis to Seattle he would join me as we say ."in the Spirit" Spirit of what? Brother Hood from Sea to Shining Sea. Dad's Youngest of 5 Brothers MD Jose Luciano Glen Pinto had come to the USA for cancer treatment but, becuse of delayed visa issues, it was too late He died in 1985. I spoke to his widow Aunty Ann - to tell her about my Dad and so it was with SUPERnatural grace I was able to arrive late that night in Vancouver - to a crowd of grieving folks -MY FOLKS most of all my beloved MOM. whose frail self and fragile heart could not bear too much sorrow or joy.. It had been a LONG 53 years for her..From Karachi to Zanzibar to Mombasa to Vancouver.. to endre change anmd progress-but all's well that ends well..the swell wells up for a time then all settles down.
So it did....

now decades later the story goes on
The Author of the BOOK of LIFE ..is like, modern Day Hollywood writers and then some. More accurately They are like Him.
Yes the Lord and Father of us all..tweaks the srcipt here and there this way and that and here we are in the Current Page and Chapter marked March 2025

It is 100 years after Timothy met, Married Beatrice and became the Parents of the Cardozo Children KILIMANI Prisons. Now as extended family we are Celebrating the two Brothers in law Cardozo De Lord in the UK and Benito ( who else ) posted the Video for the occasion the De Lord Children produced.
60 years after THE REVOLUTION we know Joseph John Bosco was getting ready to meet up with ( this time in the NEXT WORLD ) the two friends he set out to Celebrate in 2020. Dr Chicot Vas died in GOA days after Joe de Lord and days after a big celbration held for his 90 th Birthday.. Amazing grace.! Dr Vas an Internationally known Neurologist and Professor in Goa Medical School was also a Cor Unuum Papal choice for connecting with life in the Roman Latin Church which is what Goa was in the 16th Century when it became known to writers and historians as the "ROME of the ORIENT."
The Dr's wife was also a Dr whose family of Pinto siblings were mostly Medical Doctors in Bombay where Dr Vas lifework was well known .He had organized the Festival of Life Conference in which Mother Teresa was a Speaker1995 (?) . But after Y2K he moved back to his ancestral Home in the Bird Sanctary of Charao Goa, Like Bosco he had been givien the opportunity to study in Medical School in Ireland. He in Dublin Bosco in Cork.So as I imagine they must have been -there they were in 2020 60 years later reminiscing, taking stock of what had been accomplished for Goans in Goans and through The GOAN Community all over thr Globe..

Not coincidentally, in fact quite significant to me, now was the fact that The Prime Minister of India Mr Modi was welcoming another better known American Born American on his Lawn in New Delhi same time Bosco was landing in Goa March 1 2020 That American then and now was and is the President of the USA , as was Modi Prime Minister then and now..

So yes what a differnce 5 years have made to our family personally -and yet on the world's stage "globally" some things remain the same.. no matter where.

There will always be a special place in my heart and soul for the Chicago Goans, Toronto Goans, Goan Goans G O A ..but nothing will take the place of the Goans of Zanzibar Paradise Island Goans.. embedded deep iny brainwaves..
An American..fix it/ handy man came to install a new dishwasher days ago.. and no doubt was tring to figure me out while my American Born daughter-in -law was enaging him in various pertinent aspects of teh transaction and noticing he needed help with his aging knees..!talking about how to fix that!! but eventually as in all such times the question comes as to who what or why I am or "look like" as several great Indian Cuisne Restaraunts have become well established- and Kamala Harris and a dozen others have introduced India to the peoples of the Republics - for which Peoples Freedom is critical and desired.. So ..it was kind of puzzling to him when I said ( to his question of what Kind of Cuisine I cook or like) we were former Colonial *** ( whatchamacallits) of the Portuguese living in India 15th -20 Century Roman Latin Rite Catholic (like the majority in some towns in New England) but then I added "However" .."we really were a very tiny minority...from Zanzibar"

OH his eyes brightened Up.. "Freddy Mercury !"

The most famous name..and so nice for all the Folks in Bulsar Gujrat.. and Post Colonial Post Revolution -1964 I do love all the Zoroastrian Parsis Talatis Sidhwa Bulsara who made Zanzibar what it was while I was growing up. It was after I left to go on to College however, Thanks to Homaie Bhumghara and Hustasp ( God rest His Soul) but for his postongs on SJCSZan Yahoo and Google I would never had known what that Parsi Community did in Zanzibar to get girls nad young women "to take and make something" out of what had been given as heritage...Inherited in an Inheritance we can never merit or earn or repay.. We can see the fruits of this in Canada UK and USA
So once again I must reach out to you all who shared adn some still do - that grace and gift of our very own ..

En Joie ! then My BFF Best friends Forever article DECEMBER 8 2022 in Benito's amazing Website -can be Read over and over again "DOWN MEMORY LANE" brought to me the MUSIC of the BOYS in the BANDS playing in the G 1 yards away from where my Pinto Family lived Summer of 1951..- to April 1964..
The Sound of MUSIC Transcends Transports Transfigurers Translates and Transforms the reality ( no matter what no matter where)..into something lovely and so wonderful thanks to recording devices- video livestreaming and a dozen other ways.

Can you I we "hear" the Hills ( big and small) coming alive.. I could hear Elvis and BBC Cliff Richard and Frank Sinatra all the way down beside the big Old Radio in Vuga House ..
It is the Language of the Soul .. Love Life Light everlasting..The Sun enver sets anywhere before it rises someplace else.
