Yes I understand I too, have just been moved by "a Committe" of our Children and older grandchildren
who did what was needed to Get their Grandma Mom out of my 2 acre Shamba "Cabin in the woods" where I had been "comfortable" for 20 years after being Uprooted from Claremont NH !..1997 and had 5 years to adjust before being Joined by my then "newly Retired" Dr MD husband..
So off the beaten was our life that few visited us mostly family who included Joe De Lord and Joe Pinto ..
But the pay off to my agreeing is that I am now finally living the "Independent life" of Seniors in Condos "Developments" and Homes that favor folks over the age of 80++
I Do Remember ( Je me Souviens ) Our Close deep connection to each other is precisely the friendship between "Mr and Mrs Adolph"
and "Mr and Mrs Pinto" ! How amazing that your de Souza family came to stay in the Vuga House I lived in 1951-1964 January 7
I left days before the "LIberating Event" that has is where we are today.. So you were also to live directly across -40 feet or so from the Grandma of Mervyn Lobo the grandson who came from Dar- Es Salaam or whever in Tanzania .. where his parents His Mom was First daughter of Mr and Mrs "Chief" De Souza... I think ( so I was told) Mrs Chief brother Dr Emil MD? built the Vuga House ( we rented)
Yes nice to come face to face with those reminders we call "Certificates"
sadly in the move I just made -things got put in boxes. Though I stored all my diplomas and certificates in a Tube ( may have been one once containing a Fine Single Malt Whisky ) I have yet to locate it .. Not looked but when I do I shall post it I do remember they Misspelled my name as " Hazal" Pinto
My Husband Bosco (class of 1951) never bothered keeping his Certificate - but it was good enough to get him to Ireland where he "glowed" with the approval and affirmation of all those who declared him "brilliant" K-12.. !! Nuns Priests and family members. He has so many framed for jis offices - now all in a box or drawer Licences MD Degree MRCOG .. etc.. He was done bringing Dimu, Kingus and Zambrau(? purple fruits) to his teenage classmates in St Joe ..
His Gold Medal in Anatomy ( O YES....!!!) is what he chose to display late in life _ just last year - so his grandchildren could see it..and so could I. I look at daily on the wall beside his head as he eats dinner..mostly cooked by me..(O YES!! ) The older we get the Clearer those glorious years 20 - 21 come into focus.. fresh out of the TEENage ..dilemma
Between 12- 21 we have the Number 14 which is the ned of cycle number 2.. using the number favored by God and Man who may or not conceded there is a God yest 7 14 21 28 ..is the reason we have Jubilee 50 7X7 = 49 .. once past that a Woman is said to be "past her Prime" !! but a Man is considered to be ready to live out the Golden Years !!.. That's all the "gold" I have to display .. 50 years ++++++
So many of our people, and Your Own Beloved Mother made it to "100 and beyond".. Like Mayor of Brampton Missisauga HAZEL Mc Culliton who died close to brithday 103? Valentine Day 2023 ? I think She helped Goans achieve their F=DReam of the First North American Institue Center ..Club .. Just spectacular She cut the Ribbon when she was..100.. in 2021 October 2 years ago

I did love listening to your Mom with her hearty laugh. I never ever knew she was Portuguese speaking and that she spoke to you in that language in your critical years Mother Tongue is Lingua Franca.... So she joins that rare group who bridge the gap between The Portuguese Connectors and the ones who spoke only English Like me ...forced to accept our fortunes/ or misfortunes came to our DNA Gene Pool is so By by seafarers...
Maritme Oceanic History is so vast you understood better than I ( as you have a seaside home in Australia after on in Zanzibar" we must be MULTI Cultural Multi National Multi Racial and Multi Lingual "ALL RACES ALL NATIONS " clubs are vital to survival.

Some choose the "Think Globally act locally" method and the polar opposite modus operandi i "Think Locally" ( back yard grow your own ) chicken fruiots and vegiies or go fishing ! but Speak Act and be Photographed. only with the Other G 7 or G20 companions whoc include the Crowned Head of The British Commonwealth of nations..Her back yard Buckingham Palace and Balmoral, Windsor EdinBurg Castles fed all relatives- including those who came to Zanzibar... Princess Margaret... Duke of Edin (EDEN) Burg....

Is it Nice to be in the South where never have to dream of a WHITE Christmas? I never dream of that either...
It just shows up Never fails and then refuses to leave .. all 12 days of it..
Snow Ice and frigid Rigid Air hover above all the way to May 6th and even then a surpise Bucket loads of White stuff can fall from the sky and makes some wonder " Did they say Global warming?" but Yes the winters are getting warmer the season is getting shorter by weeks...
but still the fact remains If I die locally, the the next few winters after Jan 6 and before May 6 chances are I will have to kept in deep freeze storage or else choose to have my "remains" in a fancy contained for ashes Mother Earth is too frozen solid to dig so my bones can be nice and warm six feet under
Our family unlike the residents of the Pyramids and Mausoleums and Taj Mahal do not like the idea of such They prefer to speand any cash floating around on FOOD DRINK DANCE and TRAVEL as did the persons who made Mombasa Zanzibar DarEs Salaam Karachi Bombayand Goa .. what they are today
It took 500 years but I think we ( or at least my real "Earthly Remains" grandchildren /children can Track Trace Trade Taste Take what we like from OUR Muito Bene Bueno Story KPZAN..Google

- You said : SENIOR CAMBRIDGE"... we all still have our Certificates to prove we did achieve that Standard .. in 8 subjects .. a few were mandatory the other 'elective" optional . Attached is my copy of School Certificate from St Joseph’s Convent. I obtained Division Class two because I got the lowest PASS in English even though I had the points for a Class One. Attached is a copy of a Statement of Success in English which I sat at King George VI because the Principal said I had to sit English again. Also Attached is a copy of my HSC where I got PRINC in English Literature, Geography and History and Pass in the General Paper which qualified me to enter Makerere and get a Govt Scholarship as I had 3 “A” Levels.. These documents might be of interest to archival buffs
- As I remember it English was my father’s language,; my mother’s language was Portuguese. So, my Mum schooled me in Portuguese in my early years. It was only later in St Joseph’s I learnt to speak English. By ten my Mum spoke to me in Portuguese, and I would reply her in English. No wonder I got the lowest PASS there was to get in English for my School Certificate.
Sorry I have not been contributing to the KPZ blogs as I am busy down under with other things.
