MAY 1961....2017 - 2014 HEAD GEAR!..

It was to Honor the ONE WOMAN - WIFE OF ... Mohandas Gandhi of Porbudar India where she was raised as Daughter of the Kapadia family. Their Whole Family story, has liberated Whole Families, in India, South Africa, Kenya I daresay a few others elsewhere

I want you to remove the second picture of me as MISS ZANZIBAR at the end of  the PHOTO section and PUT this one  instead ... because of who I am  where I NOW am    In Massachusetts USA  Towns I visit regularly.  

 I was 75 in this picture taken in 2017  and had just returned  from the Marshall Islands and Hawaii. Where they who come to take you to their "Home"   greet you with this gesture of crowning and garlanding  just as they do in HAWAII.

A Catholic Priest came to do this for me  when My Son who was Musical Director of OKLAHOMA IN that Town   for the few months prior, told him "Mom" was showing up with Big Sister...to see the final performance with the rest of the City..

The Hotel had sent a bus  but the Fr Sabio insisted he drive us..!  I of course had to go to Mass that evening in the Local Cathedral ..walkign distance from the Hotel.  We arrived in the morning  March 11 a date so special to me..as it has been the LAST Day I was a Stateless, NON Citizen.   Next Day Sunday 12 1980  we had been sworn in in New Hanpshire.  So Sunday again Fr insisted He take me nad the son and daughter who politely declined and went off on a boat to another small island Mass I went to St Francis Xavier Church on a second island joined by a causeway. 

No part of these islands are more than 15 feet above sea level    ( most less than 10 feet above nad someplaces leass than a mile wide.. So neihborhoods  get flooded regularly at every HIGH Tide and suffer serious damage  in a tropical storm. The Pople  are experts in the matter of what Rising sea levels    which is cause by Global Warming.. !   Politics Economis adn GeoGraphics.

Also Experts in this matter are the LOW Countries known as NETHER Lands   ZEEland.. and from where "going DUTCH" meant so much! 

So once again -  here we are again   Happy as can be  All good friends and Jolly Good Company! La didah di Dah!

and  "if I give you a packet of pins and that's the way our love begins.... will you marry (3x) me..?"   in St Joseph    Church grounds for a Boy Scout fest of some kind.

Some close friends will celebrate 50 years ..married in Toronto    Royal Kate and Williams  and I think Harry and Meghan also about this time..

The Miss Zanzibar  May Queen Ball was May 19/20  1961.. created by the Parsis Zoroastrian  Community leaders (in particular God Rest Her Soul  Mrs Homae Bhumghara as told to me by her son HUSHTASP Mississauga Ontario while he was on SJCSZAN GOOGLE Groups. God rest his soul too. His passing away so soon after was a shock.

In 1960- Members of the New ALL RACES Club   Yousufali Tayabli Karimejee Jivanjee..folks,  (Jaffer sisters  were involved in organizing), I am now given to understand were dedicated to promote awareness of the immediate and future needs in Education Health  Social and Civil matters  of Girls Young Women who someday would could and should become  leaders, teachers, influencers and models for the next generation who then would see them as "OLD WOMEN"... on that  ISLAND ... from where New England is as  remote an "out of the way"  place..

but is Home to me how..
