Zanzibar Friend from Makerere days just sent this from the UK ! please add to my Photo collection. I am standing second from Left right behind Our Collegiate Hockey Captain Seated far left 1959-63..Selina Coelho Kampala grew up with G I there Formidable women's team the Wildcats.

It was painful to be playing them in GI Territory with all THOSE GOAN folks assembled !!
My team did not care who came to Campus fields to play
Far Left standing was Punjabi -Captain of Badminton we all played two sports or more.

Most girls were PIONEERS! I had never played anything in SJCSZAN Zanzibar Not even the "fool" but then as Elvis caught my attention Jail House Rock Now and then there's a FOOL such as I ... and Sinatra who always Did It his own Way also sang FOOLS Rush in where Angels Fear to tread Telling it like it is is refreshing.
The TRUTH lives forever ... in LIFE ... it the best WAY.

I was Captain ...Yes of the Collegiate Hockey Team !! when Selina left . Hillarious ! Blind leading the blind.

We never had the same ten show up. Goalie was an American from Seattle.. who never played "field" hockey SO MUCh FUN
One day after practice she said she had "lost her eyeballs and could nto see" !! she explained! they were what I now know to be CONTACT Lenses ... Lo and Behold in all that grass ... I ran up and down a few times (I played Right Wing) and found this miniscule shining out " Is this it? " I held it Every one was amazed... She was very grateful It would have taken week or more to have her Mom even get it to the post.

Hazel EYES ... see stuff ... Like I read between the lines what is NOT written ! I bend to pressure nad that is exactly what The "Boys" got me to agree to, to break me out of mt Zanzibar Mode of Behavior No Sports ? Really?? Is there a place on earth Girls do not engage in SPORTS!

So I was Table tennis Captain 1959-63 till The girl in this photo second from Right (standing) took over . SHE displaced me as well as defeated me who till then was thought "UNBEATABLE" !!.
But the same "BOYS" then said "YOU take over the Field of Hockey " where India/Pakistan / Goa men are second to None... Happily just One last Year and that was it.. Jan 1964 came
and here we are now.

The Young woman Kenya Born Africa Indigenous - far right standing was From the Kisumu area (ODINGA -OBAMA TRIBE) married a Professor in Nairobi He also graduated ahead of me in Geography BA Makerere.

I think, many are now gone to their Eaternal Reward which Thank God more than a sports Trophy the glory however lives on ... Happy THANKS - Giving to all who are grateful Thankful people.
I am SO So Glad I am NOT YOUNG any More.
Thank You Dearest Holy God for the Blessings and Joy of OLD ... Very OLD age.
